I am using the new ODBD Faith set as well as the new Butterfly Corner (I cut out the butterfly from the image). Since a Stamping in Time Challenge is to use older ODBD stamp sets, I used Sing to the Lord on the inside.

Today's Blessing: I know that it is late but I had a blessed Christmas. All the children were home for a nice long time. I have recovered well from my latest surgery and am sure that having all the family around me helped.

Today Our Daily Bread Designs is having a special surprise birthday hop for Josh, the guy behind the scenes! He works at the factory cutting, mounting, packaging, and shipping all your goodies. Then when it is time for the shows Josh is there also. He does the heavy lifting while setting up and tearing down the booth. Sometimes he is also called on to drive the truck and trailer to and from shows. Then during the show Josh can be found at the cash register bagging all your goodies and chatting with customers.

I have been especially blessed this year by volunteering at the shows and have gotten to know Josh. As I do the make and takes, Josh is there to answer any of my questions (he knows so much about product), brings me water, and stands in for me at break time. I love to watch him interact with the customers. His cheerful attitude is infectious. Here is another pic. I think this is his GQ look.

I am blessed to have gotten to know Josh. When we were given this opportunity to surprise Josh I jumped at the chance to use this new stamp from the Blessings set. I love singing this song and I do count my blessings. Josh is one of those blessings I count. Happy Birthday Joshy!!! May God richly bless your life!

Now on to my project!

I started with Our Daily Bread Designs new Blessings set and paired it with Memory Box Tinsel Paper. The question is.... Is it a Christmas card or just a praise card? I don't really know myself as I was listening to Christmas music and singing the Doxology. Perhaps it's a new card category... Christmas Fusion. (wink) The paper was a little bright for the lace so I toned it down with Ranger Distress Inks Bundled Sage and Old Paper. Adding that combination again to the sentiment and popping it up onto a bed of pearls created a focal. Finally, placing a snowflake and bird sticker completed my "Christmas Fusion".

From Our Family To Yours

Merry Christmas to you from our family to yours. Isn't this a wonderful sentiment for a card? It came with the Our Daily Bread Designs Mistletoe Tag Set. I backed it with the Snowflake Swirl Background and used the Splitcoaststampers Technique Lover's Challenge 301. The challenge this week is to make faux tiles and the link to the directions can be found HERE. What fun this was for me!! Below the faux tiles I added three rows of ribbon and to that I added three small bows that I trimmed with burgundy pearls. I love the pleated May Arts ribbon. I bought it some time ago and thought it would make a great Christmas cards.

Today's Blessings: We had a wonderful service at Church yesterday as we welcomed the first week of Advent.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! I have a card to share today but I mostly want to wish you blessing on this day of thankfulness. I have so many blessing and today as I rest up while fighting my sinus infection I will be naming them one by one.

I made this card yesterday and since the kids are having Thanksgiving at their in-laws I have lots of time today. I am off to my studio as I am feeling better but I wanted to show you what I made using Our Daily Bread Designs Tag Die, Snowflake Swirl Background, Angel, Worship the Lord stamps, and Splitcoaststampers Sketch 308. I know that Miss Angel is walking off the tag but I wanted to color those pretty wings.

Oh I almost forgot. Kelley is offering her new December sets as a pre-order. what a great way to get a jump in those Christmas cards. This is a first for Kelley and a great deal for you. Also don't forget that she is offering free shipping for those in the U.S.

Hi everyone, I am popping in to show you a card I made the other day. It was great fun to get to my craft room and play with all my fun toys laying on my desk. I used two of Our Daily Bread Designs new sets. The first is the Poinsettia Background that was stamped on the tag with Brilliance Ink and then on the strip which is embossed and then mounted over two strips of lace with foam tape. The other set is the new Poinsettia Tag Set that was stamped with SU Going Gray and cut out with the new Tag Die. Those tags cut like butter and make it so much easier for scissor challenged people like me. I then popped up the entire card front with foam tape onto an off white base. Adding a couple of flourish dies and heavily misting it with Glimmer Mist Pearl finished this simple little ditty.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I have to say how thankful I am to be a part of the Our Daily Bread Designs team. I am most blessed!!! Kelley is the most generous and sweet person to be associated with that I count this as one of my greatest life blessings. I am asking that you will say a prayer for me as I am facing some great challenges. As you know my cancer has returned and while testing has continued, the results have not been good. I am in need of a couple of surgeries; however I have developed a whopper of a sinus infection and am on my second round of meds. This is delaying the surgery and prayers on my behalf are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Today's Blessing: While my body is failing me it has given me many blessing, too! 34 years ago today I became a mother for the first time. She and her brother are such a blessing to me. Watching them grow into wonderful adults who love the LORD is another of life's greatest blessings. Happy Birthday Dear Daughter, many happy returns!!!!!

My project today features the Snowflake Swirl Background, Peace and Joy, Holly Tag Set, and the new Tag Die! Whew. Starting with the Snowflake Background stamp I embossed and matted it on white paper to make it stand out on the red bag obtained at Michael's. I then created a topper for the bag so that there will be no peaking of its contents. I love the swirls of the snowflakes in this stamp and the best part it matches last years Peace and Joy set. To make the tag I started with stamping, embossing, and die cutting the snowflakes from last month's snowflake die and attaching it to the new tag die available starting today. The sentiment is from the Holly Tag set. Adding a bit of ribbon is the only embellishment I added as I just love looking at the snowflake swirls.

One thing that I am not too good at is embossing. I have a hard time keeping the paper clean of all the bits of powder. I did learn of a new technique from teamie Angella Crockett. To keep her powder in check she touches her paper piercer to her tape runner. Leaving a bit of the glue onto the piercer she is then able to pick up most of the big particles. I am going to have to try this one as not every project can look like it was in a blizzard. LOL

Today's Blessing: I am off to have another test today. We serve a great God worthy of our praise. It is great to have friends and family who pray.

Our Daily Bread Designs November Sneak Peak and More

Let the Christmas presents begin! Our Daily Bread Designs is releasing their November sets tomorrow with a blog hop but I wanted to pop in early with a little sneak of sweet things to come. I found this set of hand soap and lotion in Jo-Ann's sale bin and thought of my little grandkids. They are such water bugs. Any reason to be in the water is a good one even if it has to be in the sink to wash their hands. This activity can last hours if not attended by adults. LOL To make Momma happy I created it so that it would be a pleasant feature in the room.

I covered the containers and bottles with DP and made the tag from Our Daily Bread Designs new release Holly Tag Set. The sentiment is from another set Poinsettia Tag Set. I placed ribbon through the tag but left it loose so that it would slip over that spout of the bottle. It was an easy little project that took no time to create.

Last weekend I had the privilege of attending a Women's Conference at the Precept Ministries International grounds in Chattanooga, TN with a dear friend of mine. I had a glorious time but came home in utter exhaustion and spent most of the week recovering....so worth it. We were asked to we bring a notebook. Well, saying that to a crafter is like music to our ears. The notebooks were found in the Michaels dollar bin and I created a cover for them with bits of girly stuff. The base of each front is Our Daily Bread Designs Wood Background set.

The first was stamped on blue paper and embellished with Zva Pearls and some flowers from my stash.

The next one was stamped onto green cardstock and embellished with green Zva pearls, a Prima flower, and a bit of May Arts ribbon that was a gift from teammate Sabrina Jackson. Thank you dear Sabrina.

Once again, just simple little somethings to brighten a day.

Today's Blessing: I have enjoyed a special weekend with family. Today is my DH birthday so we have been celebrating him.

Missing You

Hi everyone! I am popping in to show you a little card I made yesterday with Our Daily Bread Designs set Missing You. Don't you just love this stamp? I have a friend that has a little flower garden in her backyard and it looks just like this one. Every time I see this set I think of her. Stamping onto a bit of Neenah paper and then coloring it with my Copics was a real treat as it colors like a dream. After cutting it out with Spellbinders Labels 15, mounting it onto a Labels 16 die and popping it up onto another Our Daily Bread Designs stamp called Wood Background, I added a bit of ribbon, a pearl, and a Spellbinders tag for the sentiment to complete this sweet card.

Today's Blessing: I finished Leviticus today. WOW! what a book of blessings. I also made a pot roast dinner for my DH and he loved it. That first one of the season is always the best.

Blessed Christmas

Hi everyone! I am at my DD's today and having a break in the action I thought I would show you a card I made a Our Daily Bread Designs new Poinsettia Die that cuts out the poinsettia image of the Blessed Christmas set. After stamping and cutting out the image I colored it with Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol. I then popped it onto two Spellbinders label dies matted with a dark olive green cardstock. Finally, I added a bit of pearls, ribbon, and a little sentiment to finish out the design.

Today is the birthday of Our Daily Bread Designs' owner, Kelley. We are celebrating with her by having a little blog hop with some of our dear fellow DT breadsticks. We created cards using earlier sets. I chose to use the set Fruit of the Spirit. It is one of my favorites as it is easy to color with all the shading that is added. I used my Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Gamsol to bring the image to life. The checked paper is from DCWV and I thought it looked a little like a table cloth. Today's Blessing: I had such a wonderful time with my DS and his little family. For my card today I made a table centerpiece using Randi's Song designed by Dina Kowal.

Starting with two 12x12 sheets of designer paper cut in half. Gluing two 6x12 sheets together to make them sturdy, I then went on to stamp the Ecclesiastics verse three times to form a triptych which was matted twice. Stamping the song verse onto a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen die cut, I then distressed it with several Ranger Distress Inks and added a leaf from the middle of the other leaf stamp in the set.

To finish off the centerpiece I stamped the two step leaf stamp several times with more different distress inks and then further distressed them with more distress ink. To attach the front 6x12 to the back I ran a line of tape on the short side 1/2 inch from the end. By attaching it 1/2 inch in on each side it made the front bow out from the back thus allowing it to be able to stand alone. I hope that my details are clearer than mud, but if not I have provided a couple of pictures to help give you a sense of how it looks. I got the idea from Scrapbook Showgram with Sandee Genovese, a podcast I download from iTunes. I changed a few things to make it my own.

Today's Blessing: I have not written on my blog for a long time. I had surgery and my cancer has returned. The blessing is that is I am doing well and am getting around to stamping again!!! Boy does it feel good. God is so good to us. As the song Great is Thy Faithfulness in my creation today says His mercies are new every morning.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ ~Psalm 56:3

Good Morning! Our challenge today is from a dear friend Cindy Coutts, owner of Christian Paper Crafts, and has given us a thoughtful assignment today.

Scripture: Psalm 56:3, When I am afraid, I will trust in THEE.
Challenge: I would like you to make something that represents what could be your life verse, a place where God has revealed to you that you can trust in him, something representing a turning point in your life, or just focusing on Psalm 56:3. This is more of an open challenge, something that only you understand. I want you to be encouraged and remember those special "Jesus and me" moments when the Lord truly revealed Himself to you and praise Him for it.

I have chosen one of my favorite verses of all time. When I had my first cancer I often found myself singing the hymn inspired by this verse; which has continued to be a source of strength for me. Because of the LORD‘s great love I have hope! In these two short verses there are three reasons why I have hope in any affliction, a difficult time, that comes my way. One, we are not consumed. Silver and gold are refined by fire and more pure after the dross has been removed. Two, His compassions never fail. Compassion is plural. There are many and they never stop. So many that they are...three, new every morning!! I join with Jeremiah and say," Great is Thy Faithfulness." It is also my prayer to be found faithfully waiting as it is said in Micah 7:7 "But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me."

My card today uses three different Our Daily Bread Designs sets. The verse is from the Scripture Series 1 collection and framed with the new Flower Frame 2 set made especially for the Scripture Series 1 and 2 sets. I colored the outside border with my Copics YG91 and sponged Ranger Old Paper Distress Ink to further focus your eye toward the verse. As an added little embellishment I colored, layered, and popped up the beautiful butterfly from the August Don't Worry set. I was able to get a little retail therapy in the other day and found too many bargains. DH was not surprised. Good Morning! I hope you are having a great start to the day. I wanted to pop in and show you what I made today. I have been loving all the Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps flowers of the month. I don't have them all yet but the rest are on my wish. This little pretty is the September Morning Glory. In addition to the flower image this set arrived at my door with five delightful sentiments. I followed Splitcoast Stampers Sketch 293 for my card layout today (found below) and added a little butterfly from one of my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit. The paper is from DCWV At Home Collections and matted with Recollections Black card stock. The border is Martha Stewart Layered Arches Punch.

Today's Blessing: I made two cards today. A real record for me!

My project today started as a giggle. When Lisa first gave us this challenge I said that I could not possibly choose ONE verse.... so I think that I will have to put ribbons and flowers on my bible and call it a day. When my talented teamie Sandee, from Our Daily Bread Designs, created a bible project she gave me permission to CASE her. I encourage you to stop by Simply Southern Sandee to see her bible/scripture project. Even though my idea started as a funny quip it is based in truth. As many of you have found by experience our favorite scriptures are given to us in times of distress. I am no different but the one that I chose as a cover verse for this project is Psalm 25:4 as it speaks to our heart as Christians. We know that the scriptures are the way in which the Lord directs our paths and shows us His ways. The entire twenty fifth chapter is one of David's prayer for instruction, guidance, and forgiveness. I encourage you to carve out some quiet time this week and read this awesome chapter as a prayer just a David did long ago.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ~A Cheerful Heart

It has been a long week for me as you can tell by the lack of posting and I am glad to be in my craft room again. Our challenge today at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is brought to you by me. I hope you enjoy it as it is a different one. Whenever I get to do the make and takes for the Our Daily Bread Designs booth at trade shows, the scripture that ladies most often choose is Proverbs 17:22 "A cheerful heart is good medicine" from the Get Well set. As we talk they often tell me who will receive the card. I hear of so many sad stories of heartache and yet this verse is one that brings the hope of cheer to their loved one. So... when my turn came to provide the challenge I thought that this would be great verse. I have had it in the line up for several weeks but this week it has been put to the test as it is cancer check up time here. Those of you who have been touched by cancer know that check up time is always an adventure into the unknown. Maintaining a positive outlook is so important in all walks of life but crucial in fighting cancer. Cancer affects the body but not the mind and this week I wanted to make our challenge one that will bring cheer to all who participate.

Challenge: Make a clean humorous card/project. Lets see some laughter.

I could not decide which stamp I would use for today so I made a set of four cards. They are of simple design but I hope you like them anyway. I will tuck them away and give to a friend someday. I love the sassy ladies on the Emerson images and thought they would make a great gift cards. Lucky for me I have friends that appreciate a good belly laugh. I have provided the rest below.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ ~ Philippians 3:13-14

Good Sunday Morning!!! I trust it is another great day on your neighborhood as it is wonderful here. We have another great challenge today brought by our fearless leader Lisa Hjulberg. I so appreciate her vision to create SSIC blog. I throughly enjoy our challenges each week.

Verse: Philippians 3:13-14 "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Challenge: Make a card of apology or one reaching out to someone and encouraging them to put the past behind them and move forward.

When thinking of our verse and challenge today I was reminded of this verse that is in the new ODBD August stamp set. When things happen that we wish we could change and are unable to do so; sometimes the only thing we can do is just move on and learn from the situation. This is so often a difficult thing to do on our own. We need help to make this happen as we can not do it ourselves. Deep wounds either created by us or someone else can only be healed through our heavenly Father. He is the only one that can truly heal our hearts and mind helping us move on. The more we mature spiritually .....the more we imitate the mind of Christ.....the more we are able to give and receive peace.

My card today uses a new paper pad I picked up the other day at Jo-Ann's called Tuscan Sunflowers. I love how it picks up and reflects the sunflowers in Our Daily Bread Designs set called Happy Fall. I stamped, colored, and cutout five sunflowers to create a border under the sentiment from the same set. In order to create a fuller border I made a few extra leaves and added them here and there.

Today's Blessing: I was at the Novi, Mi stamp show yesterday and met fellow Christian Paper Crafts teamie Jen Charboneau, Miss Boo from SCS. I also was able to touch base with a fellow stamp lover Barbara Bruder. What a precious blessing!!

Merry Christmas the Sweet 'n Sassy Way

Good Morning! I hope you had a great week and that your weekend is going well. Christmas has hit Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and I have caught the bug as well. This is one of the new clear stamps that has been released called Christmas Candle. It comes with this delightful image and four wonderful sentiments. If you are a digi girl you will be happy know that as a digi you will receive this sweet image and a beautifully scrolled Merry Christmas sentiment. This was such a fun image to color with my Copic markers.

Using Spellbinders Labels Eleven to cut out Christmas Candle, I popped it up onto Basic Grey paper, added a bit of Flower Soft to the center of the poinsettia, followed by a few rhinestones added to the holly for more dimension. I wrapped the back of the card around the front to create a border at the top trimmed out with a MS deep edge punch, ribbon, and more rhinestones. This reminds me of a centerpiece that I put out on my dinning room table every Christmas. This would make a fast little Christmas card full of warm wishes, don't you think.

Today's Blessing: I bought a new book the other day, Henry Blackaby's Experiencing God. I am so enjoying it and recommend it highly.

My card today uses Don't Worry. I love the Chicory flowers and that beautiful butterfly. I started by stamping the flowers three times on a 4x7 sheet of Neenah paper. Stamping it again three more times on another sheet of Neenah paper and cut out the flowers so that I was able to pop them up onto the base. Sponging the corners and sides with Ranger Distress ink, coloring them with Copics, and adding a few bits of trim, ribbon and pearls finished it off.

Today's Blessing: I am still counting my blessing from my wonderful trip to CHA. Thank you Our Daily Bread Designs for this amazing adventure.

Renewed Strength

Good morning everyone. It is a busy day here. Two blog posts in one day makes Randi a busy girl. I had a great time at CHA and am still counting my blessings for the opportunity to attend. Thank you Our Daily Bread Designs. Our challenge this week is brought to us by one of our new stampin' sister, Rebekka. We are throughly enjoying our new sisters.

Verse: Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint.

Challenge: Create a card with birds of any kind.

This is such a special verse for me. When I put my trust in the Lord, allow Him to be Lord of my life, I am always renewed with strength that does not comes from me but from Christ alone. My card today uses Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Renewed Strength set. It is a perfect set to use for this challenge since it is the verse for the challenge. I colored the eagle with my Copics and surrounded him with a bit of blue for the sky. Cutting it out with Spellbinders Long Ovals made a nice focal space for the eagle and scripture. Flower Song

If it is Wednesday it is Isabella Sketchbook day. Our challenge this week is to make something in blue and green. What a delightful challenge color. I love how this sweet image called Flower Song looks in blue. I colored it with Copics, cut out and popped up the bottom three larger flowers for a bit of dimension, added a bit of Flower Soft to the center of all the flowers, and popped the entire focal onto a piece of DP from DCWV Mod Retro paper stack. I found a piece of Basic Grey lemonade CS that tied the blue and green together...love it when a plan comes together.

Let you Light Shine and Don't Worry!

Are you looking for a challenge to knock your socks off? Bored with making cards? If so you have come to the right spot today as our very talented and creative Stampin' Sister Peggysue has given us a delightful challenge today. I have to say it was so much fun.

Verse: Luke 8:16 "No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light."

Making a votive holder that says Don't Worry may seem a little strange but it was an action statement for me as this is my 6 month cancer check up time. It is routine but never the less a stressful event. It is the hand that I have been dealt with in this life and one that God has proven over and over to help me through it. Many have had experiences that cause their life to change dramatically and many are eager to tell how God has taken them through deep and difficult times. We receive peace through tough times by taking God at His word. We know peace because God gives it to us us in our darkest hours. Mine is a small light in this world but still one that is worthy of shining. As I await for my reports to be complied and my future to be plotted by doctors let me say in advance....nothing brings peace and joy like the presence of God.

Smell the Flowers

I thought I would pop in this evening to show you a little card I made with one of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps new release for this week called Smell the Flowers. It is such a fun little image which I colored with my Copics, used Spellbinders Curved Rectangles to cut it out, and pop it up onto some papers I received in the mail this week from Taylored Expressions. It was a special thank you TE Key Ingredients Kit as I have been a member for the last six months. YAHOO!!! I love all the bright colors so making the flowers to match was a must. I thought the image and the yummy papers went well together as they are both on the contemporary side, fresh and fun.

Today's Blessing: DH made the most wonderful grilled steak tonight for dinner. Love it!!!

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge...Cut It Up

This week at Isabella's Sketchbook our challenge is to cut it up. We are to use 3-D, paper tole, or decoupage on our creations. I chose the paper tole technique and printed the Cup Stack image from Isabella's Boutique three times. The bottom cup has three layers, the middle cup has two layers and the top cup has only one. I realize that not all the cups had to be the same but that was the way my mind was working the day I made this sweetie. The paper is from an older, and still a favorite, DCWV shimmer paper called The Luxury Stack. I had a difficult time shading the cups with the shimmer paper so I left them plain. I know that you can color on shimmer but that does not mean that I can color on shimmer. LOL But I wanted to use this paper as I love the coordinating patterns that gave my card an elegant look. If I had seen these cups in a store I so would love to drink a bit of coffee out of them. Being scissor challenged however, means that this is not the best of my skills. My ISC teamie Viv says that she pledges to do her best with every creation, thus so have I. Some people have it all and others just have to be satisfied with normal. I am choosing to be satisfied with my normal self. Below is a side view of the card to show all the layers. I added one of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps little Happy Birthday sentiments from the Poppies and Greetings set released last spring. All in all I love the card and I hope you do too.

Today's Blessing: I had a wonderful time this weekend in Syracuse. New York. I was able to do another Make and Take with Our Daily Bread Designs. While there I met a fellow Breadstick, Debi Southard. What better blessing there is when we can meet a fellow teamie. You are already friends through the internet so when you meet face to face it is pure joy! I think that's what it will be like when we get to heaven. We will get to meet so many of God's great men and women of the Bible. Having spent so much time with them in God's word we will know them and be able to talk to them as dear friends. Even though we have never meet them here on earth.

Our challenge today at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is brought to us by talented and creative Grace. I think you will love this challenge this week as it a fun one!

Verse: Psalm 127:1a "Unless the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who build it".

Challenge: Use an image of something that is "built" using a set of plans ... a house, church, school, automobiles, even a bird house...anything that would be built according to a set of plans.

My card today uses Our Daily Bread Designs Bless This Home set. I changed it up a bit and stamped the cottage as a background in Memento Desert Sand and over stamped the sentiment from the same set in Memento Rich Cocoa. I cut part of the cottage short in order to make the focal a square. Using GCD Studio's October Afternoon paper helped to make a great outdoor feel as well as punching the ducks from the same paper. I used i heart 2 stamp sketch for you to try (SFYTT15) challenge seen below and I am so happy that I was able to follow this one closely as it is a great sketch that I will use again.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge Punch It Up

Good morning all! Today's challenge at Isabella's Sketchbook today is to "Punch it Up". Use any Isabella Sketchbook image and add a bit of punching, craft punching that is. I used two punches for my card this week. The first is a Martha Stewart butterfly punch which I adorned with pearls from my stash and the second is a Fiskars border punch along the bottom of the checkered paper. This card actually has several layers as I printed this image "Bulb Catalog Cover" three times. First onto the darker blue, lighter blue, and then onto Neenah paper. I cut out the tulips after coloring them with my Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol, glued them to the light blue CS, and then to the barker blue. I colored the writing with a black Zig marker and then popped all of it up onto this sweet checkered blue and white paper. I really like how it turned out, but then again I love to color flowers and tulips in particular! When I make them pink, well that is just the frosting on the cake.

Precious Baby is a Gift From God

Babies are a gift from God is such a perfect sentiment for this cute image from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Precious Baby. Korin is releasing this set and Sunny Squirrel this week. When making this I had my friend in mind. Her new little girl grandchild is due any day now. Baby is a daughter of a U. S. Marine so I thought that making it with kraft, green, and pink would be perfect choice of colors. Using my Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol to color this sweet image, I then matted it with green and popped it up with mounting tape. I finished by adding a few more squares and some candy dots.

Good Morning Stampin' Sisters! Our challenge today is brought to you by our divine Guest Designer Miesje. She has given us a beautiful summer challenge ....all about resting in Christ.

Verse: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

Challenge: Make a card that symbolizes what brings you rest or peace. It could be flowers, an ocean, music, mountains, sitting with a friend, or just reading a book.

Why did I make a card with a sentiment and not an image? Because my rest is not a tangible place but one of the mind and heart. Nothing brings rest to me more than the scriptures. Having cancer so many times feels like there is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off in my body at anytime. Each time my check up rolls by I must draw deep into the Word to receive rest for my anxious heart. Death can come at anytime for all if us and we have no promises to live a long life on earth; but if we believe in Christ who died for our sin we have the promise to live forever with Him. That is my goal and it gives me great peace, joy, and rest. Praise His name.

My card today uses Our Daily Bread Designs The Living Bread and the sweet border accent from ODBD Fleur de Lis Borders. I stamped the sentiment and border accent onto Very Vanilla CS, distressed it with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and sponged it with Ranger Stormy Sky Distress Ink. This was then popped onto another cream paper stamped with another border set from ODBD called Ironworks Border and sponged again with Stormy Sky. The DP is K&CO Amy Butler Lotus. I added a Zva Swirl pearls as a finishing touch. I used last weeks SCS Sketch Challenge (SC287)

Today's Blessing: Yesterday DH's bother was drag racing a couple hours away and we were able to see him race with his FAST machine.

Popping in tonight to show you a card that I made for a few of challenges. Every Tuesday Christian Paper Crafts has a sketch challenge. Their have been many sketches like this out there. Not having made one I thought that I would give it a whirl today. Also Every Friday is Fun on Friday at CPC and today's challenge is to emboss, wet or dry. In addition, The Shabby Tea Room challenge this week is to "Make an Impression!" Big score on embossing!

Starting with DCWV Nan's Kitchen paper that is glitter embossed, I punched nine squares, matted them in black and attached them to white CS embossed with Cuttlebug's Swirl folder also matted in black. Using EK Success Real Estate Sign punch for the focal I stamped Our Daily Bread Designs new release set Bless This Home and made it to look like a picture frame.

Today's Blessing: I spent the day listening to my iPod as I made cards. Just Precept Ministries, the book of Jeremiah, and me.

Just wanted to pop in and show you a little card I made today with Sweet and Sassy Stamps new July clear stamp release. I just had to make another August Gladiola. This time I wanted to make them white so I colored the border with my Copic marker BG10. Cutting it out with Spellbinders Labels Eight die and matting it with black that I made by tracing around the outside of the die. I embossed a piece of Basic Grey Kioshi paper with Bloom Dots by Cuttlebug and then mounted it upon more of that wonderful Kioshi paper. Finally, I added a bit of ribbon from my stash and added three Metal Dots from Jo-Ann's Dollar Bin...score!!! The sketch is loosely based on Sweet 'n Sassy's challenge blog, The Sweet Stop. Each Saturday a new sketch is provided. My focal is a little too big to sit on an angle so I improvised. I really like the sketch and I will be trying it again sometime, the right way. LOL

Today's Blessing: Today was the first time I was in my studio since last Saturday. What a blessing to get to create again. I really missed it.

July is vacation time and it is great to kick back and relax. We are giving you a break this week with Isabella's Challenge "ANYTHING GOES". Use any Isabella's Sketchbook Digi Boutique image with any theme and colors of your choice. How easy is that! I chose to use Christian Paper Crafts Color Monday Challenge (CPC CM64 "Chocolate Celery") for my colors choices this week. The BG paper is former Stampin' Up's designer paper. I chose Isabella's digi Basket of Twigs, colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The leaves on the twigs were covered with Flower Soft to give it a bit of dimension. If it is Sunday then it is Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge time. Just where did this week go? Summer should never go fast I say with a big pout!! I am sure that most of you are having picnics and relaxing, I will too. As we do I pray we remember our challenge verse today. Our blessings as a country are a gift from God. It has conditions though and they are listed in this verse. Humble ourselves, pray, seek God, and turn from our wicked ways. Then He will forgive and heal our land. We so need healing. Thank you Chis, an amazing and talented artist for this awesome reminder this week.

Verse: 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Challenge: Use red or blue on your creation. It need not be patriotic.

For my card today I just had to use the new Our Daily Bread Designs set Our Daily Bread. I have always loved this song and to have it in a stamp is just delightful. I know that you have seen three samples of this stamp today but I just couldn't help myself. When I found this beautiful K&Co. paper in my stash with a map I was so ne-e-e-e-e-ding to make a card with it. An ol' social studies teacher, maps, paper, glue, pearls, and punches....a perfect match. The challenge today is to use blue or red. My blue is GKD Ocean Mist. I added a flourish of Pearls. I found the secret to using these swirling beauties... it is buying pearls from Zva Creative!! WOW!!! What a difference. They went on like a dream. You can find them on the Our Daily Bread Designs web store. The kraft paper I used as the base and mat is a great buy at Michaels. I really like the color as it is more caramel than cardboard kraft. Love it.

Sweet 'n Sassy Cocoa and Gladiolas

I just wanted to pop in this holiday weekend and show you a couple of cards that I made the other day for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps June release party. It was my first time to officially be part of a release party as well as hosting a challenge. Talk about fast paced fun!! My challenge was to make a card using ribbon. I made a couple CAS cards. One I made in about 20 minutes. It took awhile to get my sea legs but all in all I was thrilled to be a part.

My first card uses Feeling Fruity Cocoa. I love this paper from K&Co. and thought it went well with the little guy hiding behind a strawberry which is colored with Copics. I cut him out and popped him up onto two Spellbinders Labels One dies. He is cute isn't he. I know my grandkids will love him!

My second card is one that I made using the August Gladiola set. It is another CAS card. I made it right before the party. It is the fastest card I ever made since most of my cards take hours. I am poky. I colored the glads with my Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol. Running SU paper through the Fleur de Lei embossing folder, adding a bow made with my bow easy, stamping on a sweet MS tag punch, trimming it out with a bit of green and white, and done! Whew, fast but loving the simplicity and elegance of this one.

Today's Blessing: My brother is coming to visit for the weekend. He lost his wife four years ago and it is always a blessing for him to stay. We will laugh, stay up too late talking, and eat coney dogs (hot dogs with sauce) as this is his favorite hometown food. I can feel the indigestion. LOL We all have those childhood favs don't we.

Our Daily Bread Designs July Release Blog Hop

My card today is using The Living Bread set. There are four new sets that Our Daily Bread Designs released this month. I love every one of them and you can bet that I will be inking them up ASAP. I stamped the wonderful wheat cross, LOVE IT, with SU Apricot Appeal. Using Memento Rich Cocoa ink I stamped over the cross creating a focal image onto SU Apricot Appeal card stock and then popped it up over rectangles of Kioshi paper. I bought this yummy ribbon at Jo-Ann's some time ago because it reminds me of orange sherbet push ups that I had as a child. I hope you like my card as much as I loved making it!

For my card today I started by coloring Faith-Lemons, which will be in the store after the hop is finished, with my Copics and then went back in with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol for definition, depth, and antiquing. While shopping at DD, I found these Sizzlets Architectural Accents die which I sanded a bit to stay in keeping with the antique look. They come in a four in a pack and I don't think they are new; just new to me and I love them.

Today's Blessing: I am back from the Chantilly show where I met some wonderful gals who love to scrap and stamp. One was a fellow Isabella DT leader Linda Payne. We talked, laughed, and made a card together as if we had been friends IRL, forever. How sweet that God gives us friends like this.

SSCC 45 I am the Bread of Life~ An Our Daily Bread Designs Sneak Peek

Morning all! It's time for another Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge brought to you this week by me.

Scripture: Isaiah 53:5 (KJV) "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; And with His stripes we are healed."

I am so glad that God sent His only Son to be my atonement for sins. He suffered by dying on the cross so that I am able to stand before God one day sin free. Having just finished studying Exodus with all the blood sacrifices, I am freshly reminded of Christ's sacrifice. As Israel so grieved God, I have done the same! Yet, praise His holy name as there NO sin that is greater that Christ's sacrifice can not cover. My card today is from two of Our Daily Bread Designs new July sets called The Living Bread (image) and Our Daily Bread (sentiment). Don't you just love the cross made out of wheat. Living Bread indeed!! The sentiment verse above is just part of a stamp that quotes the entire verse of John 6:35. " I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never go thirsty." It so fits today's challenge verse doesn't it. Israel never went hungry or thirsty as they traveled to the promise land. If we hunger and thirst after righteousness we will be forever satisfied.

Challenge: In some manner use stripes on your card.

I colored the wheat with my Copics, sponged the image with SU More Mustard and Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress Ink after which I cut and embossed it with Spellbinder's Petite Ovals Large. I then went back in with a makeup sponge and added a darker line to give it a marbled look. The sketch is one that SCS had as a challenge awhile back (SC284).

Sweet 'n Sassy Everyday Miracles

I have a sweet card to share with you today. I made this with my June Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps set Everyday Miracles. I just love how it turned out. I think this is becoming my favorite sketch. As things are making their way back in my studio I am finding so many papers that have been neglected. It is like shopping all over again! *LOL* I found this packet of wonderful Basic Grey coordinating papers that had a butterfly pattern. Thinking that it would be perfect with its butterflies, I was not disappointed.

I knew I wanted to use my Martha Stewart Punch around the Page punch set. Starting with a 5 inch square of paper that I punched around the page and that left a square in which to place an image, sentiment, and ribbon. This set has two butterfly images and four sentiments, shown below. I chose the full butterfly image and colored it with Copics. Once cut, colored, it was popped up with a bit of foam tape over a stamped and colored image. I love how the blue and yellow blended to give a fine line of green.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge Summer Fun

It's Isabella day and that means time for another great challenge. Our challenge today is to create something that depicts summer fun. For me that has to be a day out with girlfriends and flowers. Some time ago my friend invited me to Mott Gardens and I had a blast. We walked among the grounds and admired the perfect landscape and beautiful flowers. The best thing about going out with my friend, Sandee, is that she has she is a flower expert of sorts. She identifies all the flowers for me and tells me how they should be planted, watered, and fed. And as usual it goes in one ear and then out the another...so me. I really needed her help with the flower on my card today called Evening Flower by Isabella. Not having her over my shoulder, I was left to my own devises. Being in the mood for purple, it became a amethyst flower colored with Copics. I liked how it turned out but as to the scientific details for an evening flower I am at a loss. *grin*. Suffice it to say I am using poetic licence.

Good morning all you stamping sisters in Christ out in blog land. It's time for another challenge! Our hostess today is Candace. We are so sad as this is Candace's last challenge with us. She will be missed as she does so much behind the scene work. I so appreciate her technical skills as I have so few.

Scripture: Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

Can you imagine what our world would be like if we all lived by this scripture? If we let the Word of God be our guide for everything we do? If all decisions were filtered through the light of scripture? As for me I have chosen to take this verse seriously and earnestly work to have the Word of God be my guide me in all things.

For my card today I chose one of the new stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Series 1 set. I thought this one is perfect for the challenge and speaks to the fact that God's Word stands forever. The Word will never change and it is what we can count on at all times.

Instead of doing the usual matting I used Spellbinders square dies to cut around the inside and out of the die to make a reverse mat for each layer. Various punches were used to create the flower leaves.

Sweet 'n Sassy's June Rose

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has a wonderful line of stamps and I am so drawn to their flowers. This is one of their new acrylic stamps that Korin is offering this month. It also comes with 4 other sentiments besides the one on my card today. I had so much fun coloring it with my Copics. In my mind it started to be a pink rose but the Copics I reached for were a much deeper pink, so deep it turned out red! So pretty!!! I love the result and am thinking that this rose would make so many wonderful cards. I would love to try to make a yellow or a purple rose. When my mother was dying my brother traveled four hours every week to be with her. Each time carrying a bouquet of purple roses as she loved purple.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge Honoring Father's

Wednesday is Isabella's Challenge Day! Our challenge today is all about honoring fathers. This is my third Father's day card this week. The first two were for my father but today honors my DH, the golfer. He loves to golf as much as I like to stamp. So when choosing an image to honor fathers I just had to reach for Golf Day. I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, cut it out with my Spellbinders Mega Long Ovals, and heavily sponged it with Ranger Vintage Photo ink. I have had a stash of golf papers and embellishments from years ago when I was a pretend scrapbooker. Reaching for that envelope, I found some K&CO materials and finished it off my card with a bit of SU paper, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and a few Nail Heads from GKD.

It is Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge time! Our challenge today is brought to us by founding Stamping Sister Lisa over at The Cat's Meow. I encourage you to visit her blog and thank her as SSCC would not be here if it were not for her creative inspiration.

The challenge: Make a Father's Day or Masculine Card.

The Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:1-6 "You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs--he wants to please his commanding officer. Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops."

This is Paul's last letter he ever wrote. Knowing that his life is ending, Paul counsels Timothy (and us) how to live with the pressures and influences of the day. There are so many areas to focus on in this passage but the part that I have been dealing with this week is to "be qualified to teach others". There are many wonderful methods of study but I have found a method that works for me. Precepts Ministries uses the inductive method and it has changed the way I approach God's Word. HERE is a print out that gives an overview of this type of study. Do you have a system of study? I encourage you to find one that works for you. The inductive method of bible study has changed my life. I now am developing the skills to read and understand the meaning of scriptures, and how that should look in my life. I am a work in progress and by no means a qualified teacher of the Word as Paul directs us; just one that loves the pursuit and journey of the Truth. I pray that for you.

I have two cards for you today. The first one is a rather untraditional Father's Day card but one that I hope that my father will like it. He will be 95 next month and now lives in a home that cares for him wonderfully. Of course, he would rather be at his house but he has trouble remembering things now and needs constant care. Using Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Series 1, I thought that he would find comfort in the verse from Zephaniah 3: 17 " The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save, He will take great delight in you, He will quite you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." I also thought that he might enjoy an easel card {CPC's FOF57 Challenge}that he can leave up in his room. The DCWV paper has a little sheen to it. I took several pics but each had their own problems so I apologize for the poor quality of the picture. This was also my first time making an easel card. I have been intimidated by this and I shouldn't have since it was very easy! HERE is a link for a tutorial that even has a video for visual learners. (that's me)

The second card is for my dad, too! I bought this a while ago from Flourishes as it reminded me of my dad so much. He has had several sailboats over the years and loved to watch the tall ships whenever he could.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge Thank You Hummingbirds

What do you think? Aren't these Isabella's Sketchbook hummingbirds gorgeous!! I loved coloring them and they practically colored themselves. Over at Sunday's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges we are to put an animal on our card. I so wanted to use this card but I had to wait for today. I couldn't help but think, as I made this, of how much God blesses us with beauty to enjoy.

Our Isabella's challenge this week is to design a card/project using this sketch.

I started by coloring the birds with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. Before taking it out of the Spellbinders Ovals, I sponged the surface with SU Sage Shadow ink giving it a white border. Using my circle punches I created a sentiment, with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Poppies and Greetings, for the top of the oval and then added a little rhinestone to the top for interest. My BG was made with a MS Punch Around the Page set. I just love it!

Today's Blessing: I spent the day making bookmarks for my friend to give to her Sunday School class. They are studying Numbers. She had made each of her 44 members a tassel to put on the bookmark. The scripture is Numbers 15:39a " It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes," What a get reminder of your study and what a privilege to do something for my friend. Friends are such a blessing from the Lord.

Blogger has been restored and I am going to be a part of the party for Stampin' Sisters teamie Kathy Winter after all. Yippee Skippy. So far if you have been following the hop then you know that many gifts and birthday wishes have been sent Kathy's way. If you have not been hoping but would like to start please go to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog HERE and see all things Happy Birthday for Kathy. If you came from Peggysue's blog then you are the right spot.

I just had to make Kathy a card and what better way to celebrate than with Cocoa the Mouse. He is part of Sweet and Sassy Stamps June release set So Sweet Cocoa. He is also available as a single digi. The Poppies and Greeting set was used for the sentiment. Korin has brought back acrylic stamps, by popular demand, and I for one am a happy lady. I colored him with my Primascolor pencils and Gamsol and then added a bit of Ranger Glossy Accents to make the frosting yummy. This is the first time I have used it so my technique could be improved but I do like the shine. All the materials used are from my TE Key Ingredients kits.

It is late in the day so it's a great time to offer you a piece of cake. Kathy loves daisies so look what I found at the bakery. Is that not yummy or what?! The best part of cake to me is the frosting and look at that bow. I could made a meal of it!!!

Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenges 42 Genesis 1:26

It is Sunday and that means a Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges time. Our hostess today is Kathy Winter, one of the founding stampin' sisters and a talented one at that. Our verse today is Genesis 1:26 And God said,"Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." I love Genesis Chapter 1. What a great God we serve. He spoke and the world came into existence. He spoke and the creatures were made. He spoke and man was made. You can not but praise our heavenly Father for His carefully and thoughtfully designed world. All made for us to enjoy and rule over as Psalm 8:6 states. "You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet," I made a card today for Isabella's Sketchbook and used her hummingbird image. I wish that I could share it now but you will have to wait until Wednesday. *heehee* They are such amazing little birds full of beauty. As I colored them I thought of these verses. Who can look at hummingbirds and not see God? He made them to serve a function in nature but He did it with such glorious detail.

The challenge: Make a card/project that has some kind of animal on it. It could be a fish, bird, or land mammal, or a creeping bug.

You have to look hard today to see my little creature. He's there... right on the bow. I used the dragonfly from the Our Daily Bread Designs With Heartfelt Sympathy set, stamped it onto vellum, and colored it from underneath with white and gray Prismacolor pencils. I made this card for a friend of mine that is moving away. It is only two and one half hours away so I will be able to visit often. In addition, Christian Paper Crafts has a Fun on Friday Challenge (FOF56) each Friday hosted by our own Candace. This week we are to make a Clean and Simple Card (CAS). The simple part is that I made it a one layer card with the exception of the Spellbinders flourishes that gave it a faux embossing look. I colored the fuchsia with Primacolor pencils and Gamsol, added a two ribbon bow, and added the dragonfly. The scripture is from Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Series 1 set.

The typeset was created long and thin so that it could be made into a bookmark which is what I did next. This time I used the dove from the Confirmation set, the same verse from the Scripture Series 1 set, and the "Black Magic" technique. I love that old black magic. *Grins* The trim around the edge is SU's Almost Amethyst CS but the photo is a little washed out. I thought my friend would like to have a bible bookmark to remember me

Sweet 'n Sassy's April Daisy

Good Morning! Yesterday I mentioned that I am happy to be joining the Sweet 'n Sassy DT. What a joy to be part of another Christian company. Korin has many wonderful stamps including her cute little Cocoa Mouse but if you know me I go straight for the flower section. SNSS provides shoppers with digi and acrylic stamps and this stunning April Daisy is one if the new acrylic June releases. To see samples of the new releases stop by the SNSS blog and participate in yesterday's fabulous blog hop.

My card today is a long drink of water measuring 9 1/2" by 3 7/8". It follows Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday (ST59) Challenge and the Bible Verse Thursday (BVT57, seen below) Challenge: "Encouragement". While reorganizing my studio I'm finding all sorts of goodies. It is a good thing that I love everything I buy as I bought this card base years ago on QVC and had it tucked away. I remembered that I had it and thought it was perfect for this challenge. I take my photos on my desk and now that it is by the window I think that I am in need of finding a better system as it looks a little washed out. Using Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color these Meadow Daisies I cut them out and popped them up onto a piece of DP. I added a bit of copper wired ribbon and buttons to finish it off this one page card. It came with an envelope but me thinks it is to fat for that.

Today's Blessing: DH painted and put up the another wall of shelving in my studio. Most of my paper is now in the house!! Yippee Skippy!

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge in Black and White

Good morning all! Today is Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge day! The challenge today is to make your card or project in black and white, except for the image...that you can color! I had such a fun time coloring this image. This is one of the first images I got and I love it so. It makes such a nice scene of summer. Living in Michigan means that we are getting our flowers and gardens planted. Seeing a wheelbarrow with tools surrounded by plants is a common site these days. You can find this sweet image at Isabella's store. I colored it onto Neenah paper with Copics, cut it out with Spellbinders Labels Two die. I then took a black piece of paper, traced, and cut around the outside of the die to make a frame. The DP is from DCWV. I then added a little bit of ribbon and a MS punch to finish it.

Our Daily Bread Designs June Sneak Peak

What do you think of this beauty ladies?!! This is one of Our Daily Bread Designs new June release sets called From Me to You. I love every bit of this June release. I finally got my studio moved around a bit so that I could get get to my desk. Of course it is a bit like stamping with Where's Waldo at the moment but I at least have my desk again and today was the first time I stamped since Sunday. The first thing on the agenda was to dive into this set! I had to try my hand at these fantastic Fuchsia flowers. They will be available June 1st over at the Our Daily Bread Designs store.

I started by stamping 2 images onto Neenah paper and then colored both images. One became the base and the other I cut out and placed the pieces onto the original. I curled the edges a bit so that they would be a little more natural. These little gems are such a joy to color. The Neenah paper was sponged with Bashful Blue and a small dauber so that it would look a little like the variations in sky tones. I then framed it with a SB Classic Frame and layered that over a Labels Eight die. To the Bashful Blue BG paper I pierced around the border to add a bit of interest, added a few crystal rhinestones, and ribbon to finish it off. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge Memorial Day

It is not only hump day but to us lucky people at Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge blog we have the opportunity to showcase another wonderful image by Isabella. Our challenge this week is to create a card that is inspired by an activity done on Memorial Day and done in the colors of your country. As always you need to use an Isabella image to participate. Memorial weekend at our house is filled with so many home activities. It is the time most Michiganders prepare the house and yard for summer. We and our neighbors plant flowers, gardens, bring out the lawn chairs and ready the BBQ grill for those tasty meals we plan on eating. It is a flurry of home chores. In addition, our little town has a parade and we often find ourselves parked on the sidewalk pausing for a moment to reflect and honor those who gave their life for our freedoms and way of life; our hearts thankful to all the families that have given their most precious possession for our liberties. My father served in the Canadian army in WWII, my DH and his brother served in Vietnam and I am grateful for theirs and others sacrifice of time.

My card today was inspired by Becca Feeken's beautiful card HERE. I love how she created a frame around her image and I set out to ~~copy,~~ I mean CASE it the best I could. LOL. I received a packet of charms a while back from my ODBD teamie and within the packet was this amazing eagle! Thank you again America; I hope I am doing it justice. I used SU ink on the BG of the image and drew in a little line to make it look as though the cross was grounded and not floating in air. That bit of inartistic nonsense is not included in the solemn and beautiful image Remember Our Soldiers.

Good Morning ladies. It is Stampin' Sister in Christ challenge day! Our hostess today is another wonderful DT sister, Peggysue. I love her blog name Roses by My Window and I love the verse that Peggysue chose for us the week.

Scripture: Isaiah 64:6 KJV "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

Challenge: Use distressing or sponge the edges of your project, any chosen technique to give it a vintage or distressed look.

With my card today I choose Our Daily Bread Designs new May release set God's Hands. Included in this set is a verse from Isaiah 49:16. A few chapters ahead of our challenge verse today is the reminder of the covenant that God gave to Israel that even though they have sinned and will be punished, He will never forget them. So much so that He has written their name on His hand. The image in this set so visually depicts the Hand of God. Notice that it is not clenched with a finger pointing in anger but, open, welcoming you to Him, as if saying come back my child.

Our Daily Bread Designs: Stamping in Time Challenge10 ~ As You Graduate

Every two weeks Our Daily Bread Designs Blog has a challenge called Stamping in Time: On Assignment Challenge.

The assignment: (SNTODBD10) The sketch below, provided by Silke Ledlow, is our challenge today. You must use an Our Daily Bread Designs stamp to participate. You can use any stamp but, it is nice to use sets from past months as that is why it is call Stamping in Time. The sketch can be tall and thin or long and low. However, it is not to be an A2 or a square card sketch. Good Luck and have fun with it!

For my card today I chose to make my card long and low. I then had to try out my new Spellbinders Mega Ovals Large die and I love it!!! It is perfect for this sketch. Since it is getting close to June I wanted to make another graduation card. Our local school district mascot is the cardinal and our colors are maroon and gold. I choose this spectacular cardinal image from Sing for Joy as my older stamp set and added the sentiment from the new As You Graduate set. Thinking it would be for a guy I kept it very simple but, wanting it to be on the elegant side I reached for DCWV's Mariposa paper stack to make the card base. I didn't want to cover too much of the DP so I chose a gold vellum to make the strips and instead of pearls/dots I chose to thread gold cording through the strips to mimic the dots and add a bit of interest.

I am sure that you will enjoy all the other DT gals who have made a sample for today. Be prepared to be amazed.

Today's Blessing: My DH had a window put in my basement studio. What a blessing to have sunlight. They did all the work from the outside so there was little mess inside...except for me. Today DH finished the trim painting and is ready to start the walls. I am going to move my desk under the window so I started removing things today and tomorrow he will begin rolling on "So Saffron". Pictures to follow soon.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge "Happy Birthday"

I am just dropping in today to show you a card I made for Isabella's Sketchbook this week. The challenge this week is to make a birthday card using one of Isabella's images. I fell in love with this cake the first moment I saw it and thought that it would be fun to color. It was a good thing that I had another challenge to do as I would have had a hard time deciding what flavor of icing to use. *wink* I think this image would make a great card for all kinds of occasions. Today though I started with Christian Paper Crafts' Color Monday Challenge (CM57) "Muted Colors of Shabby Chic" and then colored the image with my Copic markers. The BG paper was too light so I darkened it with Antique Linen distress ink. The middle panel was embossed and then sponged with more Antique Linen. I popped up both panels, added a bit of lace and ribbon to complete this sweet image.

Good morning girls! It is the Lord's day...let us be glad and rejoice. Grace, one of out new Stampin' Sisters, has given us a delightful challenge today to rejoice! Our Scripture this week is: Psalm 95:1-3a "Oh come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God..." What wonderful verses in which to reflect. I need to recite them each morning and evening. Times are difficult for our country these days and especially in Michigan. So many are out of work and just trying to get by. But the Lord is a great God and when we count our blessing we become thankful and our joy increases. Our challenge is to make a card of project that depicts music or joyful praise. What a fun time I had making this card. Thank you Grace, for such a wonderful challenge. I pulled out all my Our Daily Bread Designs and Layers Of Color stamp sets that made reference to music, read them all, and decided to use the Amazing Grace Hymn set. Wanting to participate in the SLCODBD13 challenge (to use flowers on your project) I went in search of a flower. I decided to make my flower by stamping the hymn on white card stock and punched out several flowers. To brake up the paper fibers I first wrinkled the paper after stamping with the hymn, then heavily sponged each flower with distress inks, and attached all 6 with fabric covered floral wire. I then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and continued to scrunch and spray until I felt that it looked presentable. The Glimmer Mist continued tomoistened the paper and further broke down the fibers. I love that it is made of music.

Welcome to Christian Paper Crafts Blog Hop!!! If you came from Mary's blog you are in the right spot. To see all the participants you might like to begin at Marcelle's. Today we are showcasing Magenta stickers. Magenta is a Canadian Manufacturer that creates rubber stamps, decorative papers, self-adhesive Peel Off's, laser-cut chipboards and cork, aluminum embellishments, and a large range of products and decorative accessories for Rubber Stamper and Scrapbooker’s. This company is known all over the world for their unique “Magenta Style”. From the wonderful artful designs in their stamps to their direct color to paper technique, to now their beautiful array of Peel-offs you just can’t help see why they are known for this style.

Magenta provided our fellow team member, Marcelle with these fantastic stickers, and she was so generous to shared them with us. Thank you Marcelle, I love them. They are wonderful stickers are so easy to manipulate. I repositioned them several times and they never tore, yeah!

With my card today I started with Magenta's 3D Rosettes peel-off stickers. I placed them on a flower that I cut out of DP and popped up onto black CS. I made three of these and then added a little sparkle ribbon. A CAS card but, these stickers where not only the easiest to work with but made my design look anything but CAS. My photographic skills are not showing them off very well. I also made a tag with the 3D Rosettes and Swirl Leaves package (that I stuck onto white CS and cut out) for a tag. The 3D Rosettes package has several sized flowers so I attached them to CS and stacked them together with pop dots. EASY PEASY!!! By adding it to a snazzy bag I am ready for that unexpected gift.

My second project, a pyramid box, was also a gift from Marcelle. I used Magenta's Funny Hearts and Swirl and Leaf Borders to decorate the exterior. I mounted the heart outline to a bit of DP and cut out it and attached it to the box and dressed up the bottom with a sticker border. I tied the flaps together with ribbon. Another easy project.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge 7

Morning ladies! This is going to be a fast post as my internet is having issues but, I so wanted to show you my card I made for this week's Isabella's Sketchbook challenge. Mr.Fix It came out today to fix the problem but, it is still going in and out. Today's challenge #7 is to use one or any combination of the beautiful colors in the banner of Isabella's Challenge blog which is pastel shades of purple, blue, green, pink, and black. I chose to use a little of every color in the banner to frame these amazing pansies called Garden Beauties. They can be found at Isabella's Sketchbook store. While coloring the leaves my Copic marker leaked a big blob onto my paper. I tried to fix it with my blender pen and by adding a lighter shade of gray but nothing worked. SO I cut out a few more leaves and placed them over the ink blob. The question you may be asking is...how did this blob happen? Well, if you take your Copics on an airplane the pressure in the ink barrel gets upset and will leak when it is opened again. The remedy is easy enough...just take off both ends of the cap and put them back on! This will equalize the pressure and no blobs. I thought I had done this but obviously NOT with this particular pen! I colored the pansies with copics and then added the veins with a Prismacolor colored pencil. These sweet pansies were then framed with a Spellbinder die, and layered onto a square of Basic Grey Wisteria. I added all the colors of Isabella's banner to the outer layers.

My card today uses Our Daily Bread Designs new May release As You Graduate. I cut the image in two and made bookmarks. What grad does not need a bookmark or two. I placed them in a velum "envelope" that is really a folded piece of paper that I wrapped with another piece of velum and a bit of ribbon. I added a charm to the bookmark ribbon that I received from America Kuhn, thank you again America.

I added a few pearls and ribbon to this yummy image front and then added it to a blue and red mat.
