Our Daily Bread Designs November Release Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Today is another big day for us at Our Daily Bread Designs.  Kelley has released five, yes 5, fantastic new sets for November.  Just in time for the holiday season.  If you arrived here from Marcelle's Blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog where all the details are given, and the entire list of designers are given with links.  If for any reason any links are broken or you get lost along the way, simply return there to find the link to the next stop.

I am so excited about these new sets and I think you will be too!  I hope you've had the chance to see the full release on the Our Daily Bread Designs Web site!  Three fantastic Christmas Tag sets, a custom die cut to perfectly cut them out, and two stunning Christmas Background Stamps too!!! We are all in stamper's heaven! LOL!

To add to the excitement, there will be FOUR FANTASTIC PRIZES this month: Three Prizes of your choice of one free tag set and matching
die cut, and ONE GRAND PRIZE of the NOVEMBER BREAD BASKET BUNDLE!!! So be sure to complete the hop, and return to the ODBD Blog Hop Post to leave a comment, telling us you:

  1. Completed the hop
  2. Left comments for each designer (name any you are unable to leave a comment)
  3. Answer the question posted on the ODBD Blog.

The Hop will run from 8am Eastern November 1 until 8pm Eastern November 2. The winners will be randomly selected from those who commented, complete the hop, and answer the question on the ODBD Blog.

Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on November 3.

My project today features the Snowflake Swirl Background, Peace and Joy, Holly Tag Set, and the new Tag Die!  Whew.  Starting with the Snowflake Background stamp I embossed and matted it on white paper to make it stand out on the red bag obtained at Michael's. I then created a topper for the bag so that there will be no peaking of its contents. I love the swirls of the snowflakes in this stamp and the best part it matches last years Peace and Joy set.  To make the tag I started with stamping, embossing, and die cutting the snowflakes from last month's snowflake die and attaching it to the new tag die available starting today. The sentiment is from the Holly Tag set.  Adding a bit of ribbon is the only embellishment I added as I just love looking at the snowflake swirls.

One thing that I am not too good at is embossing.  I have a hard time keeping the paper clean of all the bits of powder.  I did learn of a new technique from teamie Angella Crockett.  To keep her powder in check she touches her paper piercer to her tape runner.  Leaving a bit of the glue onto the piercer she is then able to pick up most of the big particles.  I am going to have to try this one as not every project can look like it was in a blizzard. LOL

Today's Blessing:  I am off to have another test today.  We serve a great God worthy of our praise.  It is great to have friends and family who pray.

Recipe

Tools: Our Daily Bread Designs Tag Die

From here, your next stop is Chris.  Enjoy the rest of the hop and I wish you the best as you give your best effort to win one of the prizes offered today. Good Luck!

What a great project. I just love how it looks. It's such eye candy! If you don't mind, here's a tip for embossing. I use pigment stamp pad instead of a embossing pad. The powder sticks better and I am able to knock of the rest by tapping the card on my work surface. I also make sure my gun is heated well before I come anywhere near my project. Lastly, you may want to wipe your surface with a dryer sheet to reduce the static and help it stick where needed.

Next...what a POWERFUL testimony. Isn't it great that we serve a great God who is so big but still cares about little ol' us. I pray all the best for you today. That HE will again wow your socks off and that you will receive a clean bill of health. Praise Him!

I'm a new follower.

Randi
What a lovely contrast with the red and white. I love snow (I know I'm crazy but it's a blessing God gives us here in the Northeast and better to love it than complain all winter). ;)
I personally want to thank you for your example of faith and trust during this time of dealing with cancer. God is so good and no matter the outcome, he's still with us and will get us through. Been there and what a blessing it was to know he was there with me and the family. May God continue to give you strength.

I absolutely love this card. It's fantastic and you sure can't tell on the embossing.
I know you received other suggestions but another way to keep unwanted areas embossed is I rub the entire area with a little rosin bag that I purchased. Hope that helps.

Hi Randi~

What a great idea! And, what a perfect no fail idea to use the snow flakes...where a little extra or a little less embossing powder doesn't ruin the project! I love how you put a topper on the bag, to keep it out of snooping little (or big) eyes! This bag could be a gift in itself! So pretty.
And, Michael's probably owes all of us a platform of bags to use as the base! :)

Be well. Praying for you continues...

He IS Able,
Traci S.
