Our Daily Bread Designs October Release Blog Hop

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs October blog hop.  If you came from Dina's blog then you are in the right place.  If you came by here on your own then you might like to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs blog. If any links were broken along the way you can always stop back at the ODBD blog where the entire links are posted.  The hop will run through October 2 at 8 PM and winners will be announced on the blog Sunday, October 3.  Kelley has generously provided 2 stamp sets for prizes and an additional lucky winner will receive the Grand Prize which is the entire October bundle.

How do you win you ask?  Stop by every DT's blog leave a comment and then return to the Our Daily Bread Designs blog and tell us:  One, that you finished the hop. Two, tell us what season is your favorite and why?

For my card today I made a table centerpiece using Randi's Song designed by Dina Kowal.
Starting with two 12x12 sheets of designer paper cut in half.  Gluing two 6x12 sheets together to make them sturdy, I then went on to stamp the Ecclesiastics verse three times to form a triptych which was matted twice.  Stamping the song verse onto a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen die cut, I then distressed it with several Ranger Distress Inks and added a leaf from the middle of the other leaf stamp in the set.

To finish off the centerpiece I stamped the two step leaf stamp several times with more different distress inks and then further distressed them with more distress ink.  To attach the front 6x12 to the back I ran a line of tape on the short side 1/2 inch from the end. By attaching it 1/2 inch in on each side it made the front bow out from the back thus allowing it to be able to stand alone.  I hope that my details are clearer than mud, but if not I have provided a couple of pictures to help give you a sense of how it looks.  I got the idea from Scrapbook Showgram with Sandee Genovese, a podcast I download from iTunes.  I changed a few things to make it my own.
Here is what the sides look like after I glued the two together.
Today's Blessing:  I have not written on my blog for a long time.  I had surgery and my cancer has returned.  The blessing is that is I am doing well and am getting around to stamping again!!! Boy does it feel good.  God is so good to us.  As the song Great is Thy Faithfulness in my creation today says His mercies are new every morning.

Recipe
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs Randi's Song
Paper: K&CO. Tim Coffey Fall; SU Really Rust, DCWV Fall Stack
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Ranger Distress Inks
Tools: Spellbinders Long Rectangles, Labels Seventeen

This is you last stop in the ODBD hop.  Please leave your comment and then hop over to the Our Daily Bread Designs blog and leave your comment that you finished the hop and what season is your favorite and why.  Have fun and God bless.

Randi

What a God-sent inspiration you are. Not only for your gorgeous creations, but for your amazing spirit! We too have been in a battle with cancer for almost two years. As I say often, my husband has been through the fire and come out on the other side. God never promised we wouldn't have hardships, but he did promise to be with us every step of the way. Our blessings have been boundless, with an incredible support group at church, a loving caring family, and an army of prayerful friends all over this country. I wear a bell necklace every single day inscribed with Isaiah 41:10 (know that I am with you). Just touching it reminds to live with a grateful heart. Bless you and God keep you in his care.

What an awesome display of God's love and faithfulness. . .and I don't mean just your beautifully designed and executed centerpiece, but your life! Through the trials He has ordained, you have magnified His Name and given witness to His redeeming power! Thank you, Randi and may the Lord continue to bless you and grow you in grace as He fits you for your eternal home! This stamp set will be in my collection soon, and I'm sure the Lord will use it to remind me to persevere, like the dear one in whose honor it was created.

I pray that the Dear Lord will use you as an instrument to shout out good news of your full recovery in this situation.

Your centerpiece is so beautiful, and so meaningful, yet not as beautiful or as full of meaning as you.
