Verse: Luke 8:16 "No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light."
Making a votive holder that says Don't Worry may seem a little strange but it was an action statement for me as this is my 6 month cancer check up time. It is routine but never the less a stressful event. It is the hand that I have been dealt with in this life and one that God has proven over and over to help me through it. Many have had experiences that cause their life to change dramatically and many are eager to tell how God has taken them through deep and difficult times. We receive peace through tough times by taking God at His word. We know peace because God gives it to us us in our darkest hours. Mine is a small light in this world but still one that is worthy of shining. As I await for my reports to be complied and my future to be plotted by doctors let me say in advance....nothing brings peace and joy like the presence of God.
Challenge: Make a votive holder or a card/project depicting a candle.
I have never made a votive candle before so I appreciated the links that Peggysue provided. HERE and HERE. My project today uses Our Daily Bread Designs new August release called Don't Worry. I love it and it is already a favorite of mine. Please stop by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges blog to see all the DT wonderful creations. We would love to have you join us and one lucky participant will win something special from Karen's Doodles, our sponsor this week.
Today's Blessing: John MacArthur's podcasts this week have been on praying boldly. Wonderful.
Thanks for stopping by,
Randi

Randi, your choice of sayings on the votive holder couldn't have been better for this week and this verse! I love it. Great reflection on the verse too! Hope you have a stress free, worry free week!

You luminary is beautiful! Thank you for sharing it!
I wanted to invite you to my blogsite as a new blogger. I haven't posted my luminary project yet, but if you have time, it's queenteacuppapertreasures@blogspot.com. Have a great week!
Well golly that is one way to look at it, we can knock our socks off trying a new project. Especially cooling in the summer, good thing we didn't decide to do this challenge in December! This is beautiful, the colors are so fiery to match the fiery nature of a votive. . . not that we want it literally to catch fire. Beautiful Randi, glad you enjoyed makign this project.

Hi Randi~
This is a beautiful light to shine! Who is really without worry? I pray Matthew Chapter 6 over and over, and have not been able to let go just yet. This is a wonderful reminder, in a beautiful way. I think anyone would be thrilled to have it. I hope it reminds you that you do not need to worry.
Dear Lord Jesus, I pray for my Sister-in-You, Randi. Lord, I thank you for her way of sharing your love through word, through art, and through Praise. Lord Jesus, we know that you are the Great Physician, and I pray that you are with her doctors as they put together her good news. For we know that our friends can be healed by our faith in you. And, she is surrounded by friends whose faith is strong in You, O Lord. Lord Jesus, we know that you could clear her of any bad health news report with just a whisper of a word, and I pray that you will do so. Lord, I pray that Randi will feel your close presence as she goes through this trial. Lord, I thank you for letting us come to you, and share our concerns and praises. Thank you for this wonderful gift to come to you as we are. Lord, I thank you for letting us be your children. I love you Lord, Jesus. Thank you for loving us right where we are. Amen.
Randi, I will continue to pray for you. Please let me know how things are going. Friends/Sisters are here to share each others burdens...as well as celebrating great news!
Remember~
He IS Able,
Traci S.
